Both the Allegheny Trail Alliance (GAP) and the C&O Canal have put together very detailed maps which are a must for your trip. Printed versions of these maps are available at any Visitor Center along the trail. The C&O has posted an interactive version to the web which is super-useful...just click here to the map. The Allegheny Trail Alliance doesn't post an interactive version of this particular map, but there is a page on their site which has the trail broken into sections, and there's an interactive map for each. The maps below were used for my last bike trip. I was looking to post beautiful electronic images of these maps with no success. I had to improvise and take photos of my "gently" used maps. Unfortunately, it rained for a few days and the maps got a little wet. Follow the link at the top of the paragraph to view more detailed maps.
